Types of Notebooks

There are different types of notebooks. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. It depends on you which one is best suited for you. Some of the types of notebook are given below.

Ultraportable

Ultra Portable systems are so light and small that you hardly know they are limited in your laptop bag. The smallest ultraportable is sometimes referred to as sub-notebooks with 10-inch displays and keyboards.

• 2 kg or less
• Less than 20 mm thick
• LowDisplays (12 inches or smaller)
• Slow mobile processors, less memory and smaller hard drives
• No internal CD, CD-RW or DVD drives
• Connections are very few
• Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional

Thin-and-light

A thin and light provides the best balance between mobility, performance and functions, especially for business travelers.

• 1.8 to 3 kg
• Less than 40 mm thick
• Medium-sized displays (12 to 14 inches)
•Powerful mobile processors, generous memory, large hard disks
• A removable internal CD, CD-RW or DVD drive
• All standard ports
• Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional

Mainstream or value notebooks

These notebooks bring the power and features that most users will need to do without all the things they do not. Although these devices are slightly lighter and smaller than desktop replacements, mainstream notebooks are not yet ready for business --Travelers.

• 2.5 to 4 kg
• About 40 mm thick
• 14-inch display or larger
• Value for mobile processors, based on amounts of memory, and small hard drives
• Two fixed or removable internal drives for floppy, CD, CD-RW or DVD drives
• All standard ports
• Microsoft Windows XP Home

Desktop Replacement

A desktop replacement is pretty much ready, but it rarely ventures from the compressed path. Because of their large andsevere size are rarely a tourist. But these give the best performance and the functions in a notebook.

• 3.5 kilograms or more
• More than 40 mm thick
• 15-inch to 17-inch displays
• Fastest mobile or desktop processors, memory, and the largest hard drives
• Two removable internal drives for floppy, CD, CD-RW, DVD-or DVD recordable
• All standard ports and multi-media connections
• Microsoft Windows XP Home orProfessional

Tablet PC

They are available in two basic designs are available: tablets, which look like traditional notebooks, but with displays that turn around and fold flat to the outside, and slate, that did not connect keyboard

• Less than 2 kg (some panels weigh as little as 1kg)
• Most of them are compact.
• 12-inch displays digitized
• Same mobile processors, memory and hard drives found in ultraportables
• No internal CD, CD-RW or DVD drives
•Fewer interfaces
• Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition
